Fifth Manhattan joins American Express OptBlue® Program

U.S. program to streamline American Express® Card acceptance for merchants

Irving, TX, May 12, 2015Fifth Manhattan, a provider of electronic payment processing and merchant services,  announced today that it is now participating in the American Express OptBlue program. Merchants can accept American Express Cards and enjoy the simplicity of a consolidated relationship with Fifth Manhattan, no longer needing to be billed separately, providing an improved customer experience and reduced cost.

Fifth Manhattan continues to market innovative solutions that deliver higher value to its merchants and will now be able to sign and fully service small merchants who wish to accept American Express Cards the same way they do all other payment cards from major card networks. The OptBlue program, which is available to eligible merchants in the United States processing less than $1 million annually in American Express transactions, makes it easier for FM's clients to focus on marketing, customer service and the other tasks critical to running a successful business.

Benefits include:

  • One customer service contact for all card processing needs
  • Single deposit for all card transactions
  • Same statement for all card networks
  • Simplified reconciliation for all card transactions
  • Rapid initial set-up

"We are excited to be able to offer the OptBlue program to our merchants," said Adam Garrett, President of Fifth Manhattan. "While many of our merchants accept Amex currently, too often we see business owners turn away Amex customers because they don't like the higher cost or separate billing. We are pleased to be able to offer our merchants time savings, cost savings, and improved processes to more effectively manage their payments."
